A science fiction story by Peter Sibbald.
Note: this story is incomplete.
In the year 2032, an intelligent lady named Sarah Case was born. She stood out since kindergarten as a scholar, and by the time she graduated high school in 2047 she had a GPA over 4.5. From there she attended Texas State University, where she got her Phd. in theoretical physics. At the age of 20, she graduated suma cum laude. However, it was not her academic life that was the most interesting.
By the end of her academic carreer, Sarah had already recieved a research investment of $10,000 to develop ansible technology - faster than light communications. The year after graduating, she had a working ansible prototype. It worked by bending space-time so that a plank-length diameter wormhole would stretch across time and space with the door facing backwards in time at one end, and forwards in time at the other. Both portals would flash in and out of existance an arbitrary distance apart, and at the exact same time. Objects in the plank-sized sphere would remain unaltered until teleporting to the location of the other portal.
